As an example, the designer of our running shorts typically wears pants waist size 32”. He prefers a size Medium in our brand (and in other running brands) but can also wear a size Small and doesn't feel constricted.

These shorts have a great cut, perfect split length, and come in a dirt rainbow of colors. The simple fit is great for mountain running, especially when using a belt to carry water, food, and layers. Only quibble, dear Lief, make a pair of the 3” in extra rugged fabric. 🙏

This is a great short for anyone on the gender queer spectrum wanting that just right fit. I run in these shorts, swim in these shorts, live in these shorts. I appreciate that the patterns could be paired with a nice shirt for dinner, but also offer some character at the gym

Very nice running shorts. Super lightweight and dry quickly. Pockets are large enough for my wallet and phone when I go to the gym. Liner is nice and comfortable. These are my first pair and I plan to buy more.

Great first impression! Took the 3” shorts out for a quick 5K on a hot day and the lightweight fabric was clutch. Love the print too. And good thing my legs are tan—these are SHORT! 😂 I missed the size chart and ordered a size too big, but I’ll definitely be trying a size down. Only nitpicks: the drawstring is a little long and I wish the print carried through to the inside. Overall, super light, comfortable and great for a hot run!

I’m not much of a long distance runner but I wear these for going to the gym, daily walks, or shorter runs. They’re incredibly lightweight and probably the comfiest shorts I own for any physical activity or even just lounging. The designs were one of the biggest draws for me as well as I started getting tired of my basic black or blue solid colored shorts that are more commonly offered for higher quality active shorts like these!
These are the lightest weight, most breathable training shorts I’ve ever owned. Perfect for the hot summer. Super practical and cool looking patterns, I’ve already ordered a second pair. Highly recommended for summer training, not just for runners!

This is my 5th pair of lief shorts. They’re definitely the comfiest running shorts I own. Having now owned a few pairs for 2.5+ years, I’m also very impressed with the durability over that timeframe — they’re all still in great shape. They’re my go to shorts for any important long run or race, and I’ve run multiple 50ks and marathons in them. This pair with the side pockets is no different — comfortable, lightweight, and stylin. My only suggestion for improvement is to put the internal key pocket in a different place (back or front instead of side), or add a second one, and make them a little bigger. I wear a 31 in pants, 5’9” 160 lbs, and the small fits me well

Excellent shorts, great quality, and great fit. I love the pockets. They feel snug without being too restrictive. I like the inclusion of the liner as well. These are perfect for summer and they come in so many different cool colors/patterns.

Airy. Still tailored enough to where I can wear them around all day and not look ridiculous. Drawstring is actually a major win. You think that’s not a big deal but if you’ve had a bad one, it ruins everything. I’d say best drawstring and best liner I’ve ever had in any short, running training or swimming. Pockets are secure. Overall truly surprised. Delighted even. Really want to try the three I mcc because I prefer shorter generally. But with the pockets and having truly zero Chaffee on 95 degree 10ks - and then still wearing them all day at the pool lol - I’ll prob still have to go these five inch pocket ones. If you’re like me and you’re getting Vuori ten thousand Wowie mmagic lulu cova etc etc etc etc ads - - take it from me. I’ve ordered all I’ve returned them all or just lived with disappointment. LIEF stands out and is exactly what they claim to be and nailed it and I love them and they are the ones you’re looking for. Instant favorite and so nice to finally be delighted with an order!

Love these shorts. And the color doesn't change much darker when wet, so they hide sweat well and good for occasional swimming/rain.

The only deduction on the review was a feature that I loved about these shorts but doesn’t seem to be effective in this short. I’ve had half a dozen over the past few years and have never gotten a roll up but this new pair I bought rolls up almost every stride on the right side. Picture is included. The liner is still the best around and these shorts will always be my go to but the roll up is annoying.

Forget being the best “running” shorts, these have become my favorite adventure short— they are easy to pack on any adventure, they are quick-drying so great to double as a swim short, the liner is comfortable and the 3" doesn't bunch up even with big legs! Def recommend!

These are the shorts I’ve been searching for for so long! They are comfortable, quick drying, great to sleep in-even with liners, and fit bigger legs without bunching at the inner thigh like others with a shorter inseam. Great colors and patterns! 10/10- recommend.
